I felt her move!

| April 30, 2009

Today was the first day I felt our little Samantha move! It was slight, just a little ripple, but I definitely felt her move.  How cool.

April 27, 2009 — is that you, Sam?

| April 27, 2009

Today is the day, at 18 weeks, 3 days, sitting innocently at my computer at work, typing away, when, what was that?  And that? OMG…it’s Sam!  Yup. I can officially feel her moving around now.  Everyone describes it as a “flutter” but to me it’s more like little waves.  Hard to believe someone so small can make so much ruckus!  I wonder what she’s doing in there? Redecorating?  It is definitely a feeling to be remembered.  Proof positive that my little girl is doing well and is healthy.

April 26, 2009 — Krista’s shower

Here is a photo of me at Mark’s sister Krista’s baby shower (Sam will have a new cousin who is due in June).  I am a little over 18 weeks now.

April 23, 2009 — more good news

| April 23, 2009

The final results are in on my first trimester screening – negative!  My risk for Down’s dropped even further to 1 in 6,500, my risk for Trisomy 18 is still 1 in 10,000 and my risk for spina bifida is 1 in 6,000!  I couldn’t be happier with the results.  Even the woman from Genzyme sort of laughed and said, well, if you are not happy with these results, you can always have diagnostic tests…Yeah, right.  After the first set of results, Dr. Bailey said there is absolutely no reason “to stick a needle in my belly”.  No amnio in my future!

April 16, 2009 – It’s a GIRL!!!

| April 16, 2009

Well, we found out officially today –  It’s a girl!  We are so excited!  I am one day shy of being 17 weeks and Dr. Bailey swears he is POSITIVE it’s a girl.  Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad – you got your granddaughter!  Isn’t she gorgeous?

And she also has a name now – Samantha Anne Myers.  Everyone thought you were a boy, but you proved them wrong!

I also went today to have the second part of my first trimester screening – mostly for the spina bifida/neural tube defects part, but also to get final results on the Down’s and Trisomy 18 tests.  I am not worried at all though – I am on cloud nine!
