Here is a small peek of the nursery. You can see one of the wall colors we chose. The quality inspector came by to inspect the rocking chair restoration we did to Pam’s grandmother’s rocker chair. We had to strip off all the years of smoky grunge, re-glued up the joints, and then painted it a nice baby blue. The quality inspector gave us a pass.

Here is a new photograph I just took of Pam at 29 weeks. Doesn’t she look just absolutely radiant? I wonder if little Sam will look like her. Yesterday we went for a walk in the neighborhood and passed three women out for a walk with their new babies. None of them looked even half as beautiful as Pam does.

Mark is so protective of our little girl : ) Generally, when Sam has been quiet for a while, then all the sudden starts moving around a lot, or just kicking really hard, I tend to talk to her, asking her what is going on in there.
Well, last night I was sitting on the couch, with my feet propped up on a stool, using Mark’s laptop while he was watching tv. In the middle of surfing the Internet, Sam starting moving around A LOT, so, naturally, I started talking to her like I always do. I think I said, “Geez, Sam, what the heck are you doing in there, you’re kicking me like crazy!?” and Mark looked over and said (well…almost yelled), “Well what do you expect, you are using her head as a table!! Give me that!” and he yanked the laptop off my lap. So funny. I guess I was using her as a table….poor kid. Hopefully she won’t remember the trauma of her mommy using her as a laptop stand ; )

If we do say so, ourselves : ) I had an ultrasound today, at 28 weeks. Everything looks perfect with our little girl. She weighs about 2 lbs 13 oz! I can’t believe it! How can she be almost 3 pounds already? The doctor said she is measuring just right and everything looks wonderful. In the process of doing all of the various measurements, Dr. Roberts (the perinatal doc we saw today) measured her brain and her head and said Sam is obviously going to be a genius ; ) Mark’s mom, who came with us today, said, “well, of course she will be a genius, look who her parents are!” Sandi got her first real glimpse of Sam, which was really special for all of us.
After all the “official” stuff was done, we asked if the ultrasoud tech could try to take some 3D pictures, which is what you are seeing here. I can’t believe the age we live in today. That we can actually see our little girl’s face before she is even born. It is so amazing. Mark and I must have looked at this photo a million times before we even got home. Below is the original picture.
Here we enlarged it a bit. The detail is amazing!
The next photo we think is just so funny. Look at all her hair! Let’s hope when she is born she is not wearing the mohawk she appears to have here! She has long hair just like Dad, I mean, um, Mom. Yeah, that’s it.
