Rose Tree Park

| September 6, 2010

On Labor Day, we went to Rose Tree Park to soak up the amazing weather. What a beautiful day!  Not too hot, low humidity, an incredible blue sky!  Sam had a great time crawling all over the grass, watching the dogs, and hanging out with us. I don’t know who had more fun, Sam or us!

These are my favorite kind of pictures.  Just us and our beautiful baby enjoying each other.  It is photos like these that I hope Sam looks back on one day, and when she looks at them, realizes how incredibly much she is loved.

Labor Day Weekend Fun

| September 5, 2010

Mark and I were so glad we had a long weekend to look forward to!  He took off on Friday, and we were of course, both off on Monday, so we had a four day weekend to enjoy.  The weekend didn’t exactly turn out as we expected, but we had a good time at any rate.  Sam has been sleeping really poorly, and we are still not really sure why, but it made making plans difficult since she was a bit cranky and her naps were coming at unexpected times of day.  And the weather, although cool and less humid, which should be a good thing, messed up our swimming pool plans.

At any rate, we had a wonderful weekend together.  Saturday, we spent the day just hanging out at home.  Sam was really not sleeping much, but she finally went down for a nap in the middle of the day.  Mark took these pictures of her when she woke up.  She always looks so cute and happy when she wakes up from a nap.

This next picture cracks me up.  Sam has these two pull toys that we bought in Ireland a few years ago.  I gave her one when she woke up.  Right now, her biggest thrill with the toys is the string.  She loves chewing on strings, straps, you name it.  And she always has the most animated face.  Look at that expression!

While I am talking about expressions, I think the look on her face here is adorable.  She is looking up the steps at me, listening to my voice (at least that’s what Mark tells me). I like to think that wistful look is indeed for her mommy.

Later that night since the light was so nice, we took Sam out into the yard to let her crawl around the grass and to take some pictures.  Here is our cutie!

If this isn’t the happiest baby in the world I don’t know who is.

Sleep, glorious sleep

| September 2, 2010

Yay!  Last night Sam finally slept through the night again!  It has been so long. I am not sure if her teeth have started to come through yet, because she is so difficult about letting us look in her mouth, but it is a good sign that she slept.  I am hoping it was not a one time thing.  I was saying to Mark the other night that I really expected her to start sleeping through so many months ago, and in all, she has maybe slept through the night a total of about 5 weeks in her entire 11 month old life and that is not a lot.  I think that I why I am so sleep deprived all the time!  Here’s hoping she sticks with it.

Also on an up note, Sam has been a little more experimental with her food.  This week with Grandmom she had some blueberry waffle and today she had Ritz crackers.  Go Sam!
