Lucky

What more can I say?  Every day I wake up and see my little girl who is beautiful both inside and out. I am the luckiest mom in the world.   Samantha, I love you.

Vroom Vroom!

The other day when we had Sam outside I opened my car to put something inside.  Sam came running and I thought, hmmm…why not show her something she has never seen before? She always sees us sit up front and she has absolutely no idea what is up there. So, I put her on my lap and showed her around.  Sam was so excited at all the buttons and knobs she didn’t know what to do first.  I didn’t even have my keys in the ignition so it wasn’t that exciting (at least as far as I was concerned) but Sam thought it was great.  She turned the air conditioning knob, played with all the radio buttons, moved the turn signal and windshield wiper levers and, the best part, turned my headlights on and off.  When the headlights are turned on and the car is turned off the car bings and bings and bings.  As you can imagine, that was beyond fun for Sam.  Look out Mommy and Daddy – I am going to want my driver’s license soon!

My Springtime Cutie

| May 18, 2011

Mark has been taking some really cute pictures of Sam recently while she is playing outside.  He takes her out at night after dinner every day that he can and they have such a good time.  I do join them, but I usually spend some time indoors so they can have some daddy-daughter bonding.  It is really fun to sort of stand off to the side, or inside the house looking out the window, and watch them interact.  Mark is such an amazing dad and Sam knows she is a lucky little girl.

Look at that beautiful face!

Engaged in one of her favorite past-times — digging in the dirt and collecting dandelions and whatnot.

Sam is always trying to get close to Zephyr and I have been trying to help her.  When I have Zephyr outside on her leash, and Sam is trying to hug her, I admit I hold the leash somewhat taut from time to time so that Zephyr can’t walk away.  I think it is good for Zephyr to see that Sam won’t hurt her, and it makes Sam feel good to bond with her kitty.

This is a rarity — a non-impish smile.  She is looking at Mark with such love and affection.  It makes my heart melt. 🙂

I gave Sam a rose petal from one of my Mother’s Day flowers and showed her how soft it is by rubbing it on her arm.  She loved it and kept stroking her arm and cheek with it.  She just discovered we have roses growing outside.

All of Sam’s outside toys are housed in our shed.  Sam immediately goes right to the shed door when we take her out so we can open it for her.  You can see a lot of her toys in this picture.

Uh Oh!

Or as Sam would say, Uh! (she never seems to get the “oh” part out).  Sam was eating shredded cheese recently and sort of made a mess of herself.   I think this picture is funny because she is just looking down like she is thinking, “Mom, I think we need to do some wash.”
