Bathing Beauty

| June 29, 2011

Here are some shots of my bathing beauty from Monday afternoon at the pool with Mommy and Grandmom.  Samantha had so much fun!  We took her in the big pool for the first time this year and she had a blast.  I think she actually liked it more than the baby pool.  I know I did since I could actually get wet up to more than my kneecaps.

Will you look at this ham?  She knows she is cute, that is for sure.

Hanging out with Grandmom after her dip in the big pool.

Ahhh…this is the life!

Exploring Tyler with Daddy

We went to Tyler Arboretum again this past weekend.  We have such a good time every time we visit and Sam loves running all around.  Besides, I have been wanting to get some good photos of Sam and Mark together.  It is such a perfect place to do so, with all of the beautiful backgrounds.  The tree house exhibit is still up and the magical habitats as well.

This is, by far, one of my favorite tree houses.  We visit it all the time.  For the first time though I noticed a sign that said the inspiration behind it was a fallen tree, with the main part being the trunk and the platforms at the end representing the branches.  It is so lovely.

I took this picture quickly as they were leaving the tree house.  I like how you can just sort of see silhouettes and not much detail.

On and over the troll bridge!

Sam was looking very intently for the troll who lives under the bridge, but she didn’t see him. I told her that he must have gone out.  But she was looking!

Next stop was the pond, always a favorite place.  Sam gets to look for turtles and frogs and other assorted animals.  She did get to see one big, fat frog who was sitting right next to the platform.

One last jaunt around the grass to let Sam blow off some steam.

Last stop of the day was the fragrence garden.  Of course, Sam loves it there since she gets to smell and pick everything she sees.

Here Mark was actually showing Sam some bees.  There are bees in one of her pop up books and she likes to point at them all so Mark was showing her what real bees look like.

After we got home and ate dinner, we let Sam run around outside.  She was wearing her hat, but wouldn’t leave it on.  We both kept scolding her for throwing it on the ground, but she just kept laughing.  Here, I am really trying to be stern with Sam and am telling her Mommy is very mad right now.  You can see how impressed she is with my speech…

I can’t stay mad at my little girl!

My gardener

Sam loves being outside and exploring flowers and plants.  The other day, Mark had her outside and she was doing just that.  She loves to sit on the front step and look at and smell all of the plants in the flower pots. She looks so sweet in these pictures.

What happened to her always disappearing barrette? Look at that hair!  I have no idea how she can see, but it appears that she is going for some sort of wind blown super model look.

I am always asking her to please not pick my flowers and all the basil leaves, but she loves smelling them, so, she does what she wants.  Ah, yes, so innocent looking, with her hands full of my plants.

She is quite the environmentally conscious fashionista — decorating her shoes with some natural pieces!  She kept sticking all the leaves and flowers into her shoes. How she got that idea, we don’t know.
