Happy Birthday, Grandmom!

This year for mom’s birthday we kept it pretty low key, just pizza at Grandmom and Poppy’s house. Sam couldn’t wait to start the birthday celebrations. She barely ate, of course – what else is new, even though we were having pizza, which she loves. I think she was too excited to move on to presents and cake.
Earlier in the week, I asked Sam what we could give Grandmom for her birthday, she said, “Maybe we don’t have to buy Grandmom a present. Maybe a hug could be her present.” Sammy, I think Grandmom would love that present from you! Despite this statement, Sam made a picture for Grandmom. I think it’s a pretty impressive stegosaurus! Grandmom helped her cut out the clouds, but Sam drew and cut out the dinosaur all by herself.
Little Miss Grandmom Doesn’t Need A Present was right in there ready to open the cards and gifts, however. She dove right in and was happy to do the unwrapping.
Now, on to what Sam has really been waiting for – cake! She only ate the frosting. Again. What is up with her, I have no idea. She used to always love cake, and she loves donuts, but she only will eat the frosting on cakes any more. Crazy kid. She picked this cake out at the store and put the candles on it.
