Our thoughtful girl

Sam is such a thoughtful little girl. She is always worried about everyone’s feelings and tries to make everyone happy.
One day recently, I dropped a pen I really liked into the milk refrigerator at the supermarket and couldn’t find it (it was a pen that had 4 different colored inks in it). Sam was more upset than I was that I lost it. She kept talking about it all the time. Mark had Sam out shopping and she kept insisting he take her into this particular store and was trying to explain to him about my pen. Finally, he figured out what she was trying to say, and lo and behold, they found a replacement and Sam brought it home to me. She was so excited and so proud that she fixed my problem. She made me promise her that I would not use my pen in the supermarket anymore.
On another day, we were out doing a lot of yard work and things around the house. Frankly, I was exhausted and hot and sweaty. Sam insisted I come into the kitchen. When I got there, I saw that she had laid out a snack for me. She did the entire thing herself. A bowl of cherry tomatoes (which she washed herself), a cup of cold water, and she even decorated the table with her Barbie birthday confetti and a flower in a little bottle. It was the sweetest thing. I couldn’t even stand it. She stood there the whole time and made sure I finished my healthy snack.
Her thoughtfulness and helpfulness doesn’t end with me. Mark had a flat tire and wanted to put on his spare so he didn’t have to run out to get it repaired right away. Sam was right in there, learning to change a tire so she could help her dad. I am so proud of her. She has her moments of selfishness, of course, as all kids, and all people do, but overall, she is the most thoughtful, sweet kid I know.
