Costume Party

This past weekend was kind of icky weather-wise, and I came down with a weird cold that made my ears all clogged and made me somewhat miserable. Mark tried to help me out by finding something to do with Sam to amuse her for more than 10 minutes at a time so I could rest a bit. He decided she might like it if he set up his camera stuff and took pictures of her in all of her various dress up outfits. She has so many cute ones. We never did get through even half of them, but she had an absolute blast picking out which ones to wear. I helped her do her hair for most of them but otherwise, it was all Sam.
Here was her first choice, Heart Girl!
Mark wasn’t sure where the Bob Fosse poses came from, but it was so adorable!
Unsurprisingly, Elsa was in the mix. Sam asked me to make her a side braid, which I did. Here she is, zapping Elsa’s Frozen magic!
One of my favorite Sam outfits is Pirate. Argghhhh! I just gave her the pirate treasure for this picture. I had forgotten I had it squirreled away and it seemed the perfect opportunity to give it to her. I love her parrot. She just got him at the Natural Science museum. I think secretly she wanted it because she knew it went with her whole pirate outfit.
The earring is clip on, of course. It came with her pirate treasure. Now she wants more of them!
Back to girly girl outfits. Anna was next on the list. This one I was pretty proud of Sam for coming up with since it isn’t truly a real Anna dress liker her Elsa one. Sam picked out the dress, put on her cape and boots and asked me to make her two braids. She looks amazing!
For some reason, Sam is obsessed with Hawaii. She keeps telling me she wants to go. This summer, when Mark’s work party had a Hawaiian theme, she was thrilled. The grass skirt and lei came from the party, but the shirt was just a regular shirt in Sam’s closet and we dressed up her hair. It’s Hula Girl! Look at that girl do the hula!
Last but not least on the list was a costume that Sam recently came up with for herself. I think I have mentioned in the past that Sam loves the old Adam West Batman show. Catwoman is a favorite, for obvious reasons. Who doesn’t like Catwoman? Sam decided one day she wanted to be just like her so she dressed all in black, put on her cat ears, fashioned a claw out of a pipe cleaner and asked her Daddy for a belt.
It’s not a bad likeness! Me-ow! Sam has many more outfits she could wear, so hopefully, another photo shoot is soon to come!
