Sam’s New Ride

Ok, technically, it’s Mark’s new ride, but Sam seems to think every new car has to pass her inspection. Mark bought a new car! It was definitely time. His Honda Pilot was 13 years old and it needed some work, so, we figured it was time to start looking. Mark thought he wanted a Toyota 4Runner, but he wasn’t sure so we went one day to test drive a whole bunch of cars. Sam thought it was the coolest thing ever. I brought a backless booster seat so that it would be easy to take in and out of the multitude of cars. For Sam, that was the best part! She loved that she could actually lean back against the actual seat of the car, instead of the back of her regular booster seat. So funny what excites kids. She did like all the various cars though, but her favorite, by far, was the one with the drop down TV screen for the built in DVD player. She wanted us to buy that one in the worst way. Yeah, I don’t think so Sammy. You watch enough TV at home!
Mark finally did decide on the 4Runner. It is the nicest car he’s ever owned. All the bells and whistles! A nice leather interior, GPS, all the standard stuff you find in nicer cars these days.
But…it is still technically kind of a truck. Which is exactly what Mark needs. Not one day after getting it home, full of mulch and other various lawn stuff and packed to the rafters! I think we’ll always have to have an SUV of some kind. I don’t know what we’d do without one!
