End of Year Party

| June 10, 2016

Today was Sam’s end of year party in her classroom. All parents were invited so Mark and I both went. Sam loves when we are at her school, especially her Daddy, since he doesn’t get there as often. It was listed for the entire day so I assumed (correctly) that it was going to be a whole day of fun and games.

The first “station” was coloring these little knapsacks the kids could take home. Sam did a lot of it but she let Mark and I help. It’s a good thing, it was a lot to color and I don’t know if she would have gotten it done!

I love the way it turned out.

They played lots of games inside, like trying to blow a ball across a table using a straw…

…and trying to carry a soda can across the table with a friend (that’s her first kindergarten friend, Adeline) by holding it up with a piece of uncooked spaghetti in their mouths.

Outside, they had races to see which team could fill their bucket with balls first (without dropping any).

This hula hoop game was my favorite. The kids had to link hands and try to move the hula hoop all the way around the circle by using their heads, shoulders, or anything really but hands. Sam forgot to step out when she got it over her head so she and her friend got stuck inside together. So cute!

Paper airplanes was the last game, trying to see who could throw theirs the furthest. Sam is not a great paper airplane flier, I must say. Poor kid needs some lessons!

The last thing was snack and then we went home. We took the opportunity to give both Mrs. Biehl and Miss Cipolloni a thank you card and a gift card. Sam really loved her teachers and I know she will miss them a lot. She kept telling me too, that she wishes Miss Marino, the student teacher was there. Sam would like her to be her first grade teacher. It was hard to explain to her that I don’t even know where Miss Marino is going to be teaching. But I am glad she loved all her teachers so much. What a wonderful kindergarten experience she has had!

That night, Mark and Sam started assembling his space Lego that he got for his birthday. Sam has been bugging him ever since he opened them. Here’s a start!
