Valentine’s Day

| February 15, 2017

This Valentine’s Day Mark surprised Sam and I with some roses – yellow for Sam and white for me. It was so sweet. He was out in the morning and came home with them. It was completely unexpected. Mark and I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, we never have, but he always does something for Sam. He bought them a few days early so that we could enjoy them longer.

On the actual day of Valentine’s Day, Sam got her usual chocolate from Mark (it’s hard to tell from the bored look on her face, but candy is always a hit) and a Shopkins phone from me that was just too cute to resist.

The kids at school exchanged valentines and Sam couldn’t wait to show us her cute bag she made to hold them in. Happy Valentine’s Day, Sammy! You will always be our valentine.

Please Write Back!

| February 10, 2017

Sam came home with this in her folder today. I love this so much, I don’t even know what to say. I definitely will write back, little girl. I just hope what I write melts your heart as much as you melted mine.

Bell Bell

Sam loves all her kitties, including those who don’t live with her. On our snowy day when we went to see my mom, Sam couldn’t resist hugging her Bella cat. They both look pretty happy. 🙂

Snow Day

| February 9, 2017

Sam had her first snow day of the school year today! We were supposed to get around 8 inches of snow, and unfortunately, the heaviest part was to fall right at morning rush hour between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. So much for school. I knew it would be cancelled and had planned ahead about how I could get work done at home. My bigger concern was that Mark was away in California on a business trip and coming home on a red eye flight arriving at – yup – 7:00 a.m. So, his flight was cancelled. He and I were on the phone for a while last night until we figured out how the heck he was getting back! Thankfully, a few flights later, he made it home. When Sam woke up early this morning and I told her school was cancelled, she was less concerned with school and more worried about seeing her Dad. She missed him so much while he was gone. I told her his flight was cancelled and she was crushed! She was relieved when I told her he was coming, just later in the day. We watched his flight on a flight tracker app and that made her feel better. Whenever he flies, she always likes to see where he is.

We were all glad Mark finally made it home, especially Mark. Boy was he exhausted. And to make it all worse, our big snow turned out to be a big nothing. Oh, it snowed, but we got a few inches tops. All day the weather people kept adjusting our snow totals down. His flight never should have been cancelled. When it should have landed, we had maybe an inch of snow on the ground. Stupid airlines!

Oh Kitties!

Sam decided to play with her Barbie pool(s) today and every time she does, the cats come running! Zephyr did too. They always look like, “Wow! Thanks for that awesome new bowl of water!” Sam gets frustrated, but eventually gives in and let’s them have a small drink. It usually takes my chastising her a bit for pushing the cats away. I mean, how much water can they drink? It’s not like they are going to drain the pool!
