Ferris Wheel

| November 12, 2017

As you all know, we love Ferris wheels in the Myers house! Mark came up with this idea to build a working Ferris wheel out of parts that he buys for their robots. It looks amazing! I can’t believe he came up with the whole thing with no plans at all. Sam loves it and couldn’t wait to send her Lego people and her tiny bears around for the ride! When Mark came up with the idea initially, the cars were single rider cars. Sam wanted the people to be able to go in pairs so they made a few adjustments and, Voila! They ride in pairs! Now it just makes me want to go to Ocean City….

I completely forgot to post Samantha’s fall school picture! It turned out as cute as could be, despite her mishap with the bloody nose and the sweating like crazy! My beautiful girl! And yes, she picked the crazy psychedelic background!

Ok, Halloween, Get Outta Here…Christmas Is Coming!

| November 5, 2017

Christmas came to our house yesterday! Well, it started to. I was happy to see Halloween go, and I am really ready to move on to Christmas. I mean, Thanksgiving is good too, but who decorates for Thanksgiving?! I have not been able to get Christmas songs out of my head and I can’t wait to start decorating. My enthusiasm is starting to rub off on Sam because she asked me if she could decorate the tree for her bedroom and I thought, why not!

We got her little tree and the decorations out of the attic and off she went!

I think it turned out beautifully! She did the whole thing herself. I didn’t help one bit. Baby Ann likes it too. 🙂

Sam made some of her own ornaments this year out of some plain gold stars.

She definitely has favorite ornaments!

That night, Baby Ann asked Sam if she could sleep under the tree, and Sam said she could.

Before bed, we also had to put almost all of Sam’s Christmas plush on her bed. Yeah….that’s not all of them….

And how could I forget? Sam also took down the Halloween decorations from her dollhouse and got them ready for Christmas. This is the most festive the dollhouse has ever looked!

I know it’s only early November, but I just don’t care. I am so in the mood for the holidays. I can’t wait. I plan on decorating early, baking a ton of cookies, and I have been buying gifts for a few weeks now. I am so glad Sam shares my love of all things Christmas. It is my very favorite time of year and since I waited so long to share it with a little one, it is wonderful that she loves it too. Bring on the merry!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from The Crazy Cat Lady! Sam loved her costume this year. I mean, what’s not to love? She gets to wear (and then keep) a super warm fuzzy robe and slippers, and then she has a bunch of tiny stuffed cats to play with. It was my idea for a costume and I am totally glad she went for it.

Her Halloween parade at school was on Halloween day and I loved watching all the kids trek down the street. Here is Sam with her friend, Giselle.

Thankfully, it was a nice day and none of the kids needed coats to stroll the streets.

Once she got home from school, like always, it was hard to keep her in the house until trick or treating time. Ever since they moved daylight savings time into November, it stays so bright out! The kids have to wait for a long time to start going out. Sam looks adorable, if I do say so myself. She loves the glasses, and she conned me into buying her a cane.

The crazy cat lady with her favorite kitties!

When it was finally time to head out, Julia showed up and we met Lina and Dominic down the street. The kids had the best time running from door to door together. Sam has so much fun running off with her friends, we can hardly keep up!

It was a good year – a TON of candy, not much she doesn’t like, and a bunch of full size bars. Score! Happy Halloween!
