This kid needs a routine

Mornings around here are hectic enough when I am trying to get ready for work and I have to keep reminding Sam to do all the things she needs to do to get ready for school. I am constantly reminding her to get moving and to get dressed. I finally got so sick and tired of finding her downstairs in her pajamas when I barely have time to take care of the cats, make her lunch, and make her breakfast, much less have to race her upstairs to get dressed too. So, I decided to do the only thing that ever seems to work when I need Sam to do something – make a chart. Two charts actually. I thought if I made her charts to follow every day, one for morning and one for bedtime, with all of her tasks (and added fun kitty photos to make it seem more appealing) she would do it. So far, so good! She loves the kitty photos and seems to be following along. In the mornings while I am getting ready for work, she is in her room doing her thing. She has always responded to charts since she was a little girl. Thank God! At least I can usually find something that works to motivate her!
