Frostival

| February 24, 2018

Today we went to the Frostival, an annual event at Sam’s school. It is basically a day full of games and fun. As soon as we got there, Sam found her friend Alaina. She was so excited!

…and about 2 seconds later, she found her other bestie, Giselle. The three girls (who as you may recall were the subject of the hullabaloo over who is friends with who) actually traveled around  the Frostival together without any incidents and they had a great time.

Downstairs in the music room where the carnival style games are was the biggest hit. We spent a ton of time there. It is not surprising, I guess, considering that for every game you play you get tickets that can be redeemed at a prize table. You get at least one ticket for playing, even if you don’t actually win, and more if you do. We played some of the easier games a million times. What a shock. This maze one was impossible! Sam gave up after a while, but I love the look of concentration/frustration on her face!

There was a photo booth in one of the classrooms and a bunch of silly girls got…well…silly!

Sam and I had gone into the booth ourselves, then Alaina and Giselle went with Sam. So cute.

Sam wanted to do face painting and I luckily talked her into a simple design not one of the whole face ones. I don’t mind face paint, but ugh, what a mess the whole face ones make.

In the gym where the bouncy things were (it was so insanely loud in there it even turned Sam off), she found the Springfield Cougar!

On to mini golf…

The theme this year was the Olympics and the girls had to show off. We took a ton of pictures because they had to keep switching places so that everyone could be 1, 2, and 3. It took forever, but they had fun. Their principal came by and took their picture too because they looked so darn cute.

One of our last activities was spin art. Sam’s came out pretty well. She had a great time at the Frostival. It was a busy few hours, but totally worth it. I’m sure we’ll be going every year!

Love the summery February days!

| February 21, 2018

Our weather is so weird. It seems that it can be freezing one minute and beautiful the next. Every February we seem to have at least one over 70 degree day. This year was no exception! A perfect day to try out our new camera and for Sam to ride her bike!

Our Funny Valentine

| February 14, 2018

Happy Valentine’s Day to the sweetest, prettiest, funniest, kindest Valentine anyone could ask for! We love you so much, Samantha. Your dad and I never celebrated Valentine’s Day until we had you and you gave us a reason to love the day. You fill our hearts with love every single day. We love you!

Cousin Andrew

| February 11, 2018

My cousin John and his whole family live in Texas, but they are huge Philadelphia fans. They love the city and our sports teams too. They were really excited that the Eagles won the Super Bowl (who knew they could pull it off?) so John’s son, Andrew, came to Philly to go to the parade. Andrew stayed with my mom for a week and Sam had a blast hanging out with him. She usually takes a while to warm up to anyone, but it didn’t take long for her to be her normal, goofball self with Andrew. I think they both had a fantastic visit!

This one is for cousin, John. We told her how her mommy always cried while sitting on John’s lap for photos as a kid so she decided to let out a huge cry herself!

An Unexpected Visit from Sparkle

| February 8, 2018

Sam had her regular dental checkup yesterday which was a good thing. She has had a loose tooth since before Christmas that just will not come out. It actually got loose before the last one that fell out already! It is so loose that Sam can move the tooth completely horizontal and it won’t budge. She has pulled on it but insists it won’t come out. I asked the hygienist about it and she said she’d take care of it, and voila, she pulled it right out! Sam’s checkup went great, her teeth are healthy, but when I talked ot the dentist she told me that sometime in the next year or so we should try to see an orthodontist. I have known that braces are in her future because her teeth are so close together. There isn’t really anything to do yet, but the dentist would like a second set of eyes on her teeth so that as soon as they think intervention is a good idea, they will get started.

Sam left Sparkle a note, of course, this time on teeny tiny fairy post paper that came with a fairy door we just attached to her wall. She got some new fairies to live in the fairy house with Juliet and James recently and she wanted to know their names. Since it has gotten so ridiculously cold, Sam moved them all inside into this castle she has for the time being. I’m glad Sparkle found her friends!

As always, Sparkle left Sam a really nice note. Lucky girl!
