Sam has really been excited about Easter this year. We have done pretty much every Easter activity I can think of, with the exception of Easter Bunny photos. Sam isn’t really that keen on seeing the mall Easter Bunny, and I can’t say I’m sorry about that.
Our first order of business was an Easter egg hunt. Sam really wanted to do one this year, and even though we have one planned on Easter at Krista and Adam’s house with Maddox and Ryder, she had already asked me if I’d set one up at home, so I did. The weather has been so weird, cold then hot. Thankfully, we had a day where it was warm (not shorts warm, but Sam didn’t care) so I was able to hide the eggs outside. I only hid 15, and she found the first 12 pretty quickly, but the last 3 she had a really hard time with! Mark and I were giving her all kinds of hints, but she wasn’t picking up on them.
By this point, she had absolutely no clue where the last 3 eggs could be and was getting very frustrated!
Ta da! Found one!
It was a pretty successful egg hunt, if I do say so myself.
I was hoping Sam would wait to dye eggs until the next day, but nope! She wanted them DONE! This year, instead of just using food coloring like we normally do, I bought a kit that was supposed to make marble eggs.
Sam enjoyed it and they came out pretty well, I think! Now, we just have to wait for the Easter Bunny!

Sam decided this year to make a leprechaun trap. She never tried to catch one before, but they had a trap in her classroom so she thought it was worth a try. She made a trap in a box with a ramp to walk up, a sign on the outside that said, “Extra, Extra Gold Inside!”Once the leprechaun got up the ramp, she placed a bunch of tape sticky side up in front of some paper gold coins she made. She thought that the leprechaun might get stuck on the tape while trying to get the “gold”.
Alas! In the morning, we found that the leprechaun was too smart for us! He broke right through the wall and then tore up her fake gold in frustration. Better luck next year, Sam!

Today was the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade and Sam wanted to go in the worst way. Thankfully, the weather wasn’t too bad so standing by the side of the road for a few hours was ok. Sam had fun and she grabbed tons of candy for Mark as it was being thrown out of the various parading cars (Tootsie rolls primarily). She had a good time, for sure, but I think she was most excited to see the Chick fil A cow!

Last night we went to Bingo night at Sam’s school. It was only a few dollars to get in and we thought it would be a fun thing to do as a family. I mean, who doesn’t like Bingo? We didn’t win any of the actual Bingo games, but we did win $55 on the 50/50! So I would definitely say it was a successful night! Sam tried to talk me into giving it all to her, but I said I think $10 is enough, thank you very much!
