Lights, Lights and More Lights

We made our annual trek into Philadelphia to see the Macy’s light show. I really didn’t know how we were going to make it because so many of our weekends were full, but Sam really wanted to go, so we went. We spent probably an hour and a half tops there though, no shopping, no lunch, just the Dickens village and the light show and we were outta there!

I can’t believe how big she is getting! This pic is from our first year there in 2012:

It was a bit chilly waiting in the endless line for Dickens village (or the puppets, as Sam always calls them), so she borrowed GG’s sweater!

I cannot believe how big Sam is getting next to these doors now too! She used to be able to fit right through them!

The show was mobbed, as usual, so we stayed off to the side to get a better view.

See ya next year!

Seeing Santa…Again?

I went out to dinner with a friend, and Mark took Sam to the King of Prussia mall. She was all dressed up in her finest holiday gear for spirit day at school, and while they were at the mall, Sam wanted to visit Santa again. Mark said there was no line, so they went! She told Mark, but not me, that she asked Santa for an Enchantimal this time, and she did not ask any other Santa she saw, and it is not on her list, so if she gets an Enchantimal, then this Santa is the real one. Last year she started asking me how Santa can be in so many places at one time and we talked about how every mall Santa is not necessarily the real one, Santa has helpers because he is so busy at the North Pole. But…you never know which of those Santas is the real one, so you better be on your best behavior. I guess she was trying to figure out if this was the real Santa or not. We’ll see on Christmas Day, Samantha!

Seeing Santa

It’s time to see the man in red! While waiting in line, Sam posed with one of Santa’s reindeer – well, maybe not.

She always makes a list, but never wants to tell Santa everything on it. The only thing she asked for in person was a Wellie Wisher doll from American Girl. Let’s hope he reads her whole list!

Here is Sam’s entire list. It’s an interesting one this year! Here writing is much better now, but in case you can’t read it, she asked for:

To Santa
I want…
Scruff-a-Luv
The Music Sheet Jessica had 5 books (Jessica is her music teacher)
Willa the Wellie Wisher
The Long Glue Sticks the big ones GG had (this kid is obsessed with her glue gun)
Candy Buttons (ever since she found out that Necco went bankrupt she is in a panic)
A Better Camera that does not turn black in a good moment
Good doll hangers like the amish people (when we were in Lancaster at the shop run by the Amish, the doll clothes for sale were on really nice hangers)
Rubik’s cube
and others if I forgot
Love, Samantha

Holidays Around the World

I took Sam to school for the annual holiday shop and Holidays Around the World. She likes the whole event, but her main reason for going is the holiday shop so she can pick out little presents for everyone. This year she went with her own money, not mine, and I promised her I would not follow her so she could have everything be a surprise. She did pick out things for me, Mark, and Grandmom and of course, things for herself…

When we first got to school, we had to make a few stops for some cute photo ops!

We did shop, but we also did the Holidays Around the World. This one was one of her favorites – Aruba!

I didn’t think she’d want to go see Santa, but she did. They had a nice long chat about how she is doing in school and his expectations for behavior. Thanks, Santa for the assist!

My little mini me. Let’s hope she still wants to be just like her mama when she grows up!

Doing our best Rockette kick!
