The Easter Bunny Has Arrived!

Happy Easter, everyone! It was an exciting morning, at least for Samantha, in the house. She kept begging me to let her sleep in our bed because she is always worried about sleeping alone on nights that someone (i.e. Santa or the Easter Bunny) are coming into the house. She thinks they will hear her get up in the middle of the night to come to my room and that would be bad because they would leave. I told her, then stay in your bed! And she said, clever little one that she is, “What about the song? He knows if you are sleeping? He knows if you’re awake? What about that?” I told her she was not allowed in our bed, but if she was good, she could go to sleep in the guestroom and when I came to bed, I would sleep with her so she didn’t feel like she had to get up. That satisfied her. So, the two of us slept in the guest room (with Penny). Sam woke up at 6:00 a.m. and kept asking me when it was time to get up. There was no way I was getting up for an Easter basket before 7:00 so I told her she had to wait until then. There is a digital alarm clock in that room that is very hard to read unless you push the button on the top that illuminates the screen. Sam kept pushing that thing EVERY MINUTE from about 6:10 until 7:00. Which would not be a problem, except the button has a very loud click when pushed. She is insane.

Finally, 7:00 came and Sam ran into our room to wake up Mark. When we got downstairs, it wasn’t the first place she looked, but it wasn’t too hard for Sam to find her basket. She was thrilled!

Just like always, she has to open every little goodie she gets. I think she likes the toys more than the candy (but she does like the candy!)

One of her favorites was the toy inside her Easter-themed Suprizamal, this pretty little butterfly.

All in all, the Bunny left a good haul! Lots of Hatchimals, which makes sense, since they come in eggs!

Sam liked her bunny themed ring pop.

We made a basket for Baby Ann and Sam loved showing it to her.

Baby Ann got a few more stuffed bunnies, just like her favorite pink one, Bun Bun. I love how she treats her dolls like real people.

Sam also got a special treat from the Easter Bunny – a pink and purple bush baby, just like Boo Boo. We decided they must be Boo Boo’s parents.

After all the basket festivities at home, it was time to get cleaned up and go to Aunt Krista and Uncle Adam’s house for dinner. Krista organized an Easter egg hunt for the kids and they loved it! Ryder was ready to go!

The three cousins had a blast running around the yard searching for eggs. They each had their own colors so that it was fair and everyone got the same number of eggs. Maddox and Sam were running like mad and poor little Ryder kept chasing after them!

There was one big egg for each of them hidden in the mailbox. We finally had to give in and give them a hint. We would have been out there all day!

Cousins 🙂

After the hunt, it was time to relax, and then eat!

Krista and Adam hosted a great Easter, and we all had such a good time. Sam loves being with her cousins. She is happiest running around with other kids, and when it’s family, it’s even better. Happy Easter!
