Happy Halloween!

Halloween was an insanely busy day this year! In addition to the regular trick or treating, Sam’s school party and her school costume parade were also on Halloween day. So, it was a lot of running, but it was fun. A Halloween party is not exactly my favorite party of the year, but as homeroom parent, you do what you have to do. It turned out to be super fun though, so I am not really complaining.

I was in charge of the craft (ok, so I am lead mom so I put myself in charge of the craft because to me that is the most fun part) and made all the kids goodie bags. The kids made witches out of paper cups and other materials…

And then had an absolute blast with their game of mummifying themselves! It was supposed to be a game where they would get in teams and have one minute to use the toilet paper to wrap up a teammate and whoever was the most wrapped won, but it turned into a total free for all because every kid wanted to be wrapped.

It really didn’t even matter because it was just supposed to be a fun activity, and they loved it.

They all march around the school in a parade so that the parents and anyone who cares to come and watch can see their costumes. Last year I stayed a while, but this year I sort of watched her, took some pics and then left. I really just wanted to see her and her classmates. After that, it’s not really my thing. Again, Halloween is not for me.

The big event of course is trick or treating! Sam wanted me to be a mouse go to with her cat costume. I told her I’d put something on for some pictures, but I was not walking around dressed in any way. Grandmom came over to hand out candy for us so we could take Sam out together.

Sam wanted to walk with Julia again like they always do, so as soon as Julia showed up, we were off to meet Lina and her family.

Goofy girls!

Here’s the crew ready to do some damage on the neighborhood houses!

I think it was a successful evening, don’t you? Sam sorted all her candy and Mark and I were lucky to get one piece each! She is already talking about next year and being a Hogwarts student. Geez! Can we eat this year’s candy before moving on to 2019?

Last but not least, Sam thought this was the most hysterical thing ever, and it kind of is!
