Happy Thanksgiving!

Posted By on November 26, 2010

This Thanksgiving was such a special one.  It was Sam’s second, but really the first that she could participate in.  It was a smaller than usual gathering since Krista, Adam and Maddox spent the day at Adam’s brother’s house, but we had a great day anyway.  Sam’s grandparents couldn’t wait to see her especially since we told them she had started trying to walk.  Thankfully, she did take some steps for them so they could see her progress.  Here are some pictures of Sam with her family, whom she is very thankful for. 🙂

Sam was happy to see her Grandmom and Poppy since she hasn’t been over there during the day for a while.  My mom can’t wait to get her back next week — Grandmom and Poppy miss her terribly!

Sam’s Mom Mom and Pop Pop brought Analiece with them and Sam had so much fun having another kid around to play with.  Analiece spent so much time trying to amuse Sam, making her laugh, and reading books to her.  It was really nice seeing the cousins interact.  Even though Analiece is so much older than Sam, she was so great with her.  She played with Sam and was really wonderful at keeping Sam amused during the long day. Mark and I were so busy with dinner, it was nice to have someone else watch her for a while.  Analiece read Sam a few of her favorite pop-up books.  It was a really cute thing to watch.

Sam doesn’t see her Mom Mom and Pop Pop as often, but when she does, she is so happy they are there for hugs and kisses. 🙂  I think this is such a great photo — you can see the love going both ways.

Here’s our yummy turkey (which Sam was shoveling in!)

And the proud chef, who always does a great job, not just on Thanksgiving, but every day.

We weren’t sure how well Sam would do with eating. She likes a lot of what we had, carrots, potatoes, beans, etc., but not necessarily cooked the way they were cooked.  She did so well!  She ate a ton of turkey and liked the vegetables and the stuffing too.

Mark and I are always thankful for so many things in our lives. We are so lucky after all.  We have an amazing family, good jobs, a beautiful home, a sweet cat, and so many other things.  But most of all, we are so thankful for our beautiful Sam.  About a million times yesterday, I just had to grab her and hug her to tell her how lucky I feel to have her in my life.  There were so many times that I never thought that I would have a photo like the one below, me and Mark with our little miracle.  For years and years, every Thanksgiving would go by and I would have to remind myself that I do have things to be thankful for, even though I didn’t have the one thing I wanted most.  Now look at what I have!

Your mom and dad love you, Samantha, more than you could ever realize. You have made our dreams come true.

Such sweet pictures. Annaliece is adorable. I am glad the two girl cousins had quality time together.
