Smedley Park

We took Sam to Smedley Park last weekend to let her run around and play.  There is a lot of open space there so we knew she would like it.  She did have fun, picking dandelions, looking at all the other kids and the dogs, and generally just hanging out with her mom and dad.  We decided to sit on a bench for a while to relax and cool off and Sam spontaneously leaned over and hugged Mark.  It was the cutest, sweetest thing.  It was like she was saying, “Thanks, Dad, I had so much fun!”

There is a playground there as well and we let Sam play for a bit.  This is Sam navigating a walkway that is sort of like a swinging bridge.  She was so scared to cross it at first because it moves, but once she got the hang of it, she must have gone back and forth a million times.  We couldn’t get her to go down the slide at the one end by herself though. A couple of times we put her down the slide and she enjoyed it, but not enough to bravely choose to go for it on her own.

Sam and her Daddy watching the other kids play.  She was quite the Daddy’s girl that day!
