One of our last stops was the pond. There are usually some turtles and I was trying to point one out to her that was sunning on a log. There are some aerators in the middle of the pond and they sort of made bubbles. Sam kept yelling, “Bub! Bub!” the whole time. (Bub is her shorthand for bubbles when she is too lazy to say the whole word).
Sam saw a turtle and she was really trying to show Maddox. It’s cute how she’s pointing and Maddox is watching so intently. There were quite a few turtles, and one frog, but I don’t think they saw the frog’s little head sticking up out of the water in the moss.
Maddox kept sticking his head through the slats in the fence and we all were afraid he was going to topple over and fall in. I finally just grabbed a hold of his shirt to make sure he was secure on dry land!
Turtle watching….
Sam hanging out with her dad. I love the little arm around him.
Mark and Krista taking a break on the bench.
There was a little house made of sticks that’s kind of hard to explain, but one side had this tube the kids could crawl through. Sam wanted no part of it, but Maddox went through a million times!
In the fragrance garden. Sam was checking out her dandelion collection more than the garden itself. The last time she was there she really enjoyed all the scents she could experience, but I think she was getting tired.
Maddox wanted to know what she was looking at so he came right over.
One last picture, having a laugh with her mommy.
We had such a great time that day. We can’t wait to go back again soon. At dinner that night, Sam was sitting next to Mark in the restaurant, and she spontaneously leaned over and hugged him and gave him a kiss. He said it was the first unprompted kiss she ever gave him and he will never forget it. I think she was saying thank you for giving her such a wonderful day. We had an amazing day too Sam!
