Vacation – what vacation?

Posted By on August 15, 2011

It seems to long ago that we were on vacation but it’s only been about a week! It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve posted, but we have been so busy having fun and just doing things that there wasn’t time. We had so much fun with Sam down the shore. It was so different from last year because she is so grown up now.

This will have to be the first of quite a few posts to get all the details in!

On our way down the shore, Sam was super excited. She knew we were going somewhere but I am sure she really had no idea where. We kept talking about vacation, not that she truly understands that, but she loves to go bye bye so anywhere we went would have been fine with her. We got to Sea Isle City pretty early, as we usually do, had pizza at Basilico’s then spent the time before we could go to the house walking the Promenade. Sam loved looking at the ocean. We went to a small arcade and I was excited to show Sam Skee Ball, which is one of my all time favorite games. What a disaster! I thought she’d love it since she likes balls and I just assumed that watching the balls fly up in the air would be fun for her. Not so much….Every time I’d throw a ball and it would disappear into the holes, Sam started to cry! By the time I got to 4 balls she was hysterical! Mark took her out while I finished the game. Outside, there were little rides and Sam hugged the dragon ride. So, we thought, oh great, Sam can ride the dragon. She liked sitting on him, but once he started to move, he was not her friend anymore!

Later that night, after dinner, we all went for a walk and Krista pulled Maddox and Sam in the wagon. They loved it and looked so cute!

Sam was so incredibly exhausted though from not having any nap that she quickly conked out. Look at that poor girl!

I felt bad for her that she couldn’t even rest her head so I wound up carrying her back to the house. My little snuggle bunny…

We all went to bed semi-early to be ready for a long beach day the next day!
