Pumpkinland 2012

Mark took some time off so that we could bring Sam to Linvilla Orchards to pick out some pumpkins. She loves this time of year and is very excited about Halloween. She has been telling me for months that she wants to be a frog this Halloween (she has never had a different response to my question about what she wants to be). We decorated our house more extensively than in the past and every year she likes when the pumpkins come in. We have orange lights strung and lots of decorations hanging in the house and on the door and windows. She loves the spiders I think best, which I think is so funny since spiders are not exactly my cup of tea.
When we went to Linvilla, our first stop was the animals, which are her favorite part of Linvilla Orchards. Never mind all the yummy food they grow there (or the pie….oh, the apple pie….). Sam is much more interested in the chickens, ducks, deer and other assorted creatures. After the animals, and the playground, FINALLY, we got to the pumpkins! By this point, it was nearing when she usually takes a nap, when she takes one, and she was so tired, she just kept asking to go home. But once she saw all the pumpkins, she got into it.
Sam loved these white ones, which I have never really seen before. Maybe because they were just so unusual?
She kept handing me pumpkin after pumpkin and wanting to take them all home.
When we pointed out the stripy ones, she couldn’t get over there fast enough! If they could make polka dotted ones, she’d be in heaven!
I love this picture. She looks so cute, so ready for fall.
Sam and her daddy, sporting his new beard! I like it and so does Sam. 🙂
