Fire Company Open House
Posted By pamelamyers on October 13, 2012
Our fire house, which is pretty big, holds and open house each year during fire prevention week. We took Sam for the first time last year and she loved it! For some reason, I don’t think I posted about it before. So, this is what we are going to do. I have some pics from last year, and some from this year. I am posting them all! Wait until you see how my girl has changed!
Anyway, this year, they had a miniature coast guard vehicle that was being remotely operated by one of the firemen. It was about 3 feet square, and looked like a boat. The man operating it also was able to make it talk, and Sam was so enamored with it. She loves robots in general for some reason, so this moving, talking robot-like boat was magical.
Last year, Sam’s favorite part of last year’s open house was the bear. Oh, her love affair with the bear. She had never really seen anything like this before and when he shook her hand, she talked about it non-stop. How the bear touched her hand. She was actually walking around with her hand out like she was afraid to rub off whatever wonderful vibes he gave her. Now remember, this next pic is from 2011 — look how little Sam seems!
Mark took a picture of me and Sam in front of the fire engine this year…
…and last year too. My little fire girl is growing up so fast.
