Planting

I had a bunch of tulip bulbs to put in the ground this year and Sam wanted to help. She loves digging around in the dirt so Mark and I knew she would love it. Although it was hard for her to help me dig the holes since they need to be so deep, she did try.
Her favorite part was actually putting the bulbs into the holes, and then covering them up with dirt. In fact, when I tried to cover them myself, I was told in no uncertain terms that it was her job to do that!
I can’t wait until next year when they all pop up (I planted 50!) Sam will be so excited to see them sprouting, then turning into beautiful multicolored flowers. Those squirrels better not dig in my mulch. They are great at stealing bulbs. I’m on to you squirrels — look out!
