Macy’s Light Show 2013
Posted By pamelamyers on December 17, 2013
Once again it was time to go to Macy’s to see the light show. My mom and I are really trying to make it a tradition, for as long as Sam wants to keep going. It is something that is pretty near and dear to me, so I hope she wants to continue to go for a long time. I really dread those days when Sam will start bemoaning everything fun I want to do with her.
Even though she has seen it a bunch of times before, Sam is still excited by all the lights. Who wouldn’t be, I mean, look at it! We were sitting on the floor right by the eagle, whose majestic head you can see in the corner.
Speaking of the eagle, Sam asked if she could take her picture with him. Of course!
After the light show, we headed upstairs to Dickens Village. Sam never lets me stop here to take pictures, but this year she was all for it. We got this cute pictures of all of us.
A lot of kids get freaked out by the Dickens puppets. I don’t know if it is the dark, or the actual puppets, but Sam never does. She thinks they are pretty funny, and maybe some of them a little weird, but she always wants to go.
After Dickens Village (and a stop in the Holiday Shop for some ornaments), we went to lunch with my friend Debbi, who came to spend some time with us. We went to lunch and Debbi gave Sam a Merida doll, from the Disney movie, Brave. Sam has not seen the movie yet, but Debbi thought Sam may like Merida because they have the same color hair. She was right!
After lunch, the plan was to shop a bit. Off to the shoe department! Sam found a pair she really liked, but I convinced her they were maybe a wee bit too high for her this year. They are very chic!
We stopped one last time after shopping, upstairs this time, to watch the light show. You can’t see it only once! Sam would stay and watch it all day long if we would let her. There’s always next year!

Even though i bailed on the light show and the Dickens Village, i loved seeing you, Sam and your mom. It was fun having lunch with all of you. I am glad Sam liked the doll. I loved when she imitated you trying to close the matchbox car suitcase!!
