Gingerbread Construction

Posted By on December 22, 2013

It’s gingerbread time again! I had the house hidden away because I knew Sam would want to build it the minute she saw it. When I finally took it out of the bag and put it on the table, yup, I was right. She wanted to build it immediately! She was pretty patient this year when I told her we had to build the house then let it dry for a few hours or it would fall apart. Of course, by patient, I mean asking me every 15 minutes starting 5 minutes after I built it….

Ready to go!

Usually, I handle the frosting bag and Sam handles the decorating. And eating. Let’s not forget the eating of all the candies that are supposed to go on the house. I’m not pointing any fingers or anything, but the candy culprit has orange hair. Not brown. With a lot of grey in it. Orange.

Mark always helps too and this year was no different. Mark and Sam love to build things together, and that includes cookie houses.

Eventually, just like last year, Sam decides she wants to handle frosting duty. She is pretty good!

Ta Da! All done. We are pretty proud of our accomplishment. Now we need to find some gingerbread men to move in!
